Bank opening hours

Normal banking hours are from 09:30 to 15:00 hrs

Monday through Friday.

However, it may vary from one bank to another, and from

winter to summer time.

Shop opening hours

Shop hours for shopping centres and department stores,

are usually between 09:00 and 18:00.

Some stores might be open longer.

On Saturdays most shops close at 15:00.

Sweden is the largest of the Nordic countries, it extends 1,600 kilometres from north to south and covers a area of 450,000 km.

It is bordered by Norway and Finland and the Baltic Sea in the east and the North Sea in the west.

More than half of Sweden’s land surface is covered with forest, mostly coniferous woodland rich fauna. Some 100,000 lakes

enliven the countryside. Outside its lengthy coast are archipelagos comprising thousands of islands.

In the north, winters are long, cold and snowbound but during the brief summers the midnight sun provides daylight around the clock. In the south, winters are considerably milder and summer longer.

The Swedish monarchy is constitutional and the Royal family are:

Carl XVI Gustav King of Sweden, Silvia Queen of Sweden, Victoria Crown princess, Daniel Prince, Carl Phillip Prince and Madeleine Princess.

The population is 9 000 000 inhabitants.

The Capital is Stockholm with 1 700 000 inhabitants including the suburbs. Other major cities are Gøteborg and Malmø.

The language is Swedish and minority languages are Lappish and Finnish.
